WHAT'S HAPPENING

The school was built in 1901 and has evolved into being the heart of the New Farm community.
Miss Tash has been working very hard with the children for the World Around Us Club. Today we finally got to hang our “Beautiful Brisbane” River Mural.
Queensland Mental Health week started on the 9th of October.
The theme of National Book Week (21-27th August 2021) is “Old Worlds New Worlds Other Worlds”.
This week Team Nundah had been cooking up a storm in the kitchen and preparing cupcakes so they could sell them to make money for a very worthy cause, to support the RSPCA to save animals and fight animal cruelty.
Each Thursday Miss Mandy from School Plus Griffin has been engaging the children in the “Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure Program”, which is an age-appropriate program to teach children about personal safety.

Our Griffin team celebrated National OSHC Educators Day this week with a “Shout Out Wall” including a photo of each of our superstar educators on the wall.

The Moorooka team celebrated National OSHC Educators Day this week with a party, balloons and presents and messages of appreciation, organised by their amazing leaders.
This Friday, 30th July, was International Friendship Day and Schools National Tree Day.
To celebrate OSHC Educators Day, our Kimberley Park OSHC created a huge poster with balloons and set it up next to our parent sign in table to thank our parents for enabling us to be the educators, supporting us and letting us be a part of their children’s lives.
This week School Plus CHAC are doing everything Trees leading up to School National Tree Day.
At the beginning of Semester One, the children of our Music and Movement Club sat with Miss Renee and decided they wanted to do a performance.

As a part of Mental Health Week, we embarked on a challenge and experiment we had read about.
School Plus Moorooka OSHC have been critically reflecting on how to enhance and nurture children’s social and emotional wellbeing by focusing on the functionality of our existing play spaces.
The School Plus Cannon Hill Anglican College garden has been a labour of love over many years. The garden idea originated around the idea of being able to provide children with an enriched “garden to table” learning experience and has grown from there.
